Application portals often ask for a photo or signature at an exact size, such as 3.5 x 4.5 cm or 600 x 600 pixels, and a file size between a minimum and a maximum KB. This photo resizer handles both in one pass, on your device.
Resize to pixels, cm, mm, or inches
Enter the width and height in pixels, or in centimeters, millimeters, or inches with a DPI. At 300 DPI, 3.5 x 4.5 cm becomes 413 x 531 pixels, and JPG or PNG output records that DPI so print dialogs show the right physical size.
Crop to fill or fit inside with padding
Lock the aspect ratio to keep each photo's proportions, or set an exact box. When the shape differs, crop to fill and drag the picture to choose what stays in the frame, or fit the whole image inside and pad the rest with white.
Resize an image to 20 KB to 50 KB
Set an optional minimum and maximum KB. The pixel size stays exact while JPG or WebP quality is searched to land inside the window. If a range cannot be met, such as a signature that stays under 10 KB, the result says so instead of claiming success.
Common questions
Practical answers about privacy, formats, and output quality.
How do I resize a photo to 3.5 x 4.5 cm?
Choose Centimeters, enter 3.5 and 4.5, and keep 300 DPI. That makes a 413 x 531 pixel image. Turn off the aspect lock, choose Crop to fill, and drag the preview so the face sits where the form asks.
Can I resize an image to between 20 KB and 50 KB?
Yes. Enter 20 as the minimum and 50 as the maximum KB. The pixel size stays exact and JPG or WebP quality is adjusted to fit. Each result shows its final size in KB and bytes and is flagged when the range cannot be met.
Why is my result over the maximum or under the minimum KB?
Pixel dimensions fix how much detail the file can hold. A large photo may stay over a small limit even at the lowest quality, and a tiny signature may stay under a minimum at full quality. Change the dimensions, or use JPG instead of PNG.
Is 1 KB counted as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes?
Portals differ, so results stay at or under the maximum times 1,000 bytes and, when the range allows, at or over the minimum times 1,024 bytes. A file made for 20 to 50 KB passes either reading.
Are the passport and visa sizes official?
The presets use sizes published by the U.S. Department of State and GOV.UK: 600 x 600 pixels up to 240 KB for U.S. visa photos, 2 x 2 inch prints, and 35 x 45 mm prints. They set size only. Head size, background, and other photo rules still apply, so check the current notice.
Are my photos uploaded, and which files work?
No upload happens. Decoding, resizing, and ZIP creation run in your browser. JPG, PNG, and static WebP images work, up to 20 at a time. HEIC, SVG, and animated images are rejected. Convert HEIC photos to JPG first.
