These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of RealScaner, operated by RealScaner (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Mandatory consumer rights are not limited by these Terms.

1. Service

RealScaner is a browser-based document and image utility. The current Service includes:

  • document scanning from camera, file upload, and clipboard;
  • edge correction, cropping, enhancement, annotation, signatures, page management, and export;
  • PDF compression;
  • PDF page organization, rotation, deletion, extraction, and export;
  • PDF text or image watermarking;
  • PDF page numbering;
  • image compression with target-size and format controls; and
  • signature drawing, upload, cleanup, transparent PNG export, clipboard copy, and same-session PDF handoff.

The Service currently does not require an account, paid subscription, or cloud document archive. Features can change as described below.

2. Browser processing and files

During normal use, files, camera captures, clipboard images, document pages, annotations, signatures, edits, and exports are processed in your browser on your device. RealScaner does not normally upload or store those files on its servers.

RealScaner is not cloud storage, backup, or records-management software. You are responsible for downloading, checking, backing up, and protecting files. Unsaved work can be lost if you close or refresh the page, clear site data, or experience a browser, device, power, or network failure.

If a future feature requires server processing, its interface and the legal documents will be updated before that feature is used for new processing.

3. Your content and permissions

You retain your rights in documents, images, signatures, and other content that you process. You confirm that you have the rights, permission, and authority needed to scan, edit, sign, watermark, number, compress, export, or share that content.

You must not use the Service to process unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, abusive, or unauthorized material. You must not forge or misuse documents or signatures.

RealScaner does not claim ownership of your content merely because you use the Service. Because processing is local, RealScaner does not need a general license to host your document files.

4. Signature disclaimer

The signature features create or place an image or mark. They do not verify identity, authenticate a signer, provide notarization, create a qualified electronic signature, or guarantee legal validity or enforceability.

You are responsible for confirming that the signature method, document format, identity checks, consent, and records satisfy the law and the requirements of the recipient.

5. Accuracy and review

Output depends on your source file, camera, lighting, device, browser, settings, and selected edits. Review every result before downloading, submitting, signing, printing, publishing, or relying on it.

RealScaner does not guarantee that a result will satisfy a court, government authority, school, employer, insurer, bank, customer, or other recipient. RealScaner does not provide legal, financial, medical, tax, or professional advice.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • violate law, regulation, court order, or another person’s rights;
  • process content without required permission;
  • forge, impersonate, defraud, or misrepresent;
  • probe, scan, bypass, or interfere with security;
  • overload, disrupt, or damage the Service or its infrastructure;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, copy, scrape, or redistribute the Service except where law permits;
  • introduce malware or harmful code; or
  • use automation to abuse the Service or evade technical limits.

We can restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or third parties, investigate abuse, comply with law, or address a security risk.

7. Privacy, cookies, and advertising

Use of personal information, cookies, local storage, analytics, and Google AdSense is described in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice. Privacy choices are available through the site’s Privacy Settings or Your Privacy Choices control.

Advertisements can be served by Google or participating partners. An advertisement or third-party link is not an endorsement, warranty, or guarantee by RealScaner. Third-party services and websites have independent terms and privacy policies.

8. Intellectual property

RealScaner’s name, branding, design, code, text, graphics, and other original materials belong to RealScaner or its licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not grant you ownership of them.

You can use the Service and its outputs for lawful purposes. You shall not copy, sell, redistribute, or falsely represent RealScaner materials without permission. Open-source and third-party components remain subject to their licenses.

9. Availability and changes

We can add, modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue any feature without guaranteeing continued availability. We can update these Terms when the Service, providers, security requirements, advertising, or law changes. The updated date above shows when the latest version was posted.

Your continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Terms only to the extent permitted by applicable law. If law requires a new agreement or consent, we will request it.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure in every circumstance, compatible with every browser or device, or suitable for every purpose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, condition, right, or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RealScaner is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or anticipated savings, arising from use of or inability to use the Service.

This includes loss caused by unsaved work, inaccurate or corrupted output, failed download, browser or device failure, interruption, third-party rejection, unauthorized access outside our reasonable control, or reliance on an output without review.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, violation of non-waivable consumer rights, or any other liability that applicable law does not permit us to limit.

12. Governing law and consumer rights

These Terms are governed by applicable law, subject to mandatory law in your place of residence. Courts with lawful jurisdiction over the parties can hear disputes only to the extent permitted by mandatory law.

Consumers in the US, EEA, UK, Switzerland, and other jurisdictions retain mandatory statutory rights. Nothing in these Terms removes those rights or prevents a consumer from using a legally available complaint, dispute, or regulatory process.
